There are some stupid systems around that don't allow for commonsense. I couldn't get mail redirected from one of my properties because it had "Hotel" in the name, didn't matter that I produced a Certificate of Title and had plenty of other supporting documentation. Eventually after a lot of stuffing around, I got some of the mail redirected, but not all. Silly considering if I had a letterbox at the Hotel, all the mail would have been put in there and I would have had full access to the mail.
I'm not sure what State you are in, but (in Victoria) my daughter in the last year or so put her husbands name on her title, and I'm pretty sure she would have said something if the cost was anywhere near a $1,000.
