    yes agreed trashy... thats a poor design feature of the NDIS.

    elderly (crikey thats us) people have higher care needs and coupled with increased longevity the costs of the "permanent" disability of old age isn't accounted for. I see this as a failing, but I guess you're right that NDIS is supposed to support people into the workforce. not into retirement.

    I hear the argument that the health care systems are supposed to cover the needs of the elderly and frail/moribund. the PBS is often cited as sufficient assistance, but as we age our mobility needs become increasingly difficult and so such service provisions in the NDIS could be provided.

    but then we'd have certain people whingeing about the cost of aged care again.

    you can't win while aging.
