idiot cyclists rant, page-49

First off, most cyclist have no regards for their own welfare and seem to expect car drivers to miss them, fatal mistake.

They go through red lights, they don't stay in safe bike lanes at intersections, don't have lights for night time, they cross over to wrong side in front of on coming vehicles, they wear ipod ear plugs.
I have seen them changing menu while crossing intersections.

Respect has to be earned.

I would not registered bikes, I would registered riders with labels on Helmets and numbers on day glow jackets like roadside workers use. They can easily take helmets and jackets with them for security.They can only ride one bike at a time,even if it's not theirs.

The cyclist that gets hit, is the cyclist that wasn't seen.
Make yourself highly visible.

It may not be fashionable for some, but it will increase your survival many times.

You only have one life, take care of it and don't give that responsibility to a stranger.
