    Exactly, so many complain about colonisation without realising that this was likely the best of all options. Tech would have caught up soon enough, and there's no way any country (even today) would let primitive people control a vast land abundant in valuable natural resources. Just look at the US invasion of Iraq...

    Thanks to the British, Aboriginal people today live in relative luxury to the rest of the world and have complete freedom. They need not worry about war, hunger, healthcare or education. They have all the opportunities available to them, some choose to reject these opportunities, but they are most certainly there.

    Any other scenario would see this country a third world dump. A land of extreme poverty and frequent war between various countries trying to get their hands on Australia's resources. The indigenous people, if not completely wiped out by this point, would be enslaved or living in squalor.
