I also acknowledge that most Australians do not think along the lines that I do - which I honestly believe is due to a lack of knowledge, empathy and the avoidance of "being wrong" or acknowledging that something that's part of "traditional" maybe hasn't been considering everyone all along.

The indigenous were not considered subjects of the Queen, that is why they did not have voting rights.

Australia was considered Australia before Federation, I have an invitation to a family member to a 1888 State Banquet celebrating the first hundred years of Australian settlement hanging in my study.

Read up on Governor Arthur Philip and how he treated the indigenous population. Your schooling has been severely lacking.
