Interested in peoples thoughts on this.
CATL continues to sign massive battery contracts going forward (the latest with Volvo) and still has no meaningful Lithium supply lined up. If we indulge the speculation that has been going around on this forum for over 18 months that they intend to get their supply from Manono/AVZ, then what are people’s thoughts as to when will this happen and by what means?
Are they waiting on SS/transport? Met results? DFS? Some sort of DRC political deal? Something else?
Will it be OT? JV with Huayou? Takeover (hostile or friendly)? SOA? Something else?
All just speculation but IMO ultimately CATL will source it’s Li from AVZ/Manono but many ways this could happen.
