Because they can run their own currency. With Germany's mercantilist behaviour, nobody can survive in the Euro, eventually. Apart from Germany.
Iceland could do what they did because they weren't in the Euro. The UK has been much better off out of it.
Greece has the OPPORTUNITY to be better off if they leave. Whether they are capable of benefitting from it is debatable. Maybe if SYRIZA is in charge, leaving the old, corrupt parties out in the cold, they will. But the latest is that the two families are getting support from another minor party, and might cobble together a govt. In which case, God help the Greeks, 'cos the EU won't.
Portugal, Spain, Italy, Ireland all need to leave too. Dunno enough about some of the other minnows. France must be looking a bit dodgy too, though.
