I did research on this a while back and recommended on these threads that people tread wearily with BankWest

in short there is no legislation and Aust and NZ have been under pressure to introduce bank depositor insurance - all comes down to:

1. Can HBOS sell Bankwest as a going concern? - answer is most probably
