as was explained to me , GAM previously with Wodgina and Pilgangorra tenements had given them away for basically cents in the dollar. Given Tabba Tabba was the last of the 4 sites they had, why would you not listen to a strategy of going with a junior explorer for shares and hence share any upside the company has by a discovery. you would not have got this upside if you did a deal with MinRes for Tabba Tabba.
as it turns out the directors of wildcat were able to secure the deposit (from what i understand some healthy competition from other juniors) hence were rewarded the introduction shares and GAM finally got to get a reward from investment they held in Tabba Tabba by over $150m bought by MinRes
