I suspect Josh is far more practical, he would simply place on order for 10-12 Astute Class submarines from the UK. Already produced, working well, and some still in the production pipeline, what more do you need.
There is no need to go off on some technology sharing partnership and risk building something from scratch at a much later timeframe.
There is also no point trying to build them here in Australia, the UK has 2.5 times our population and has straggled from time to time to get the right technical expertise to build Astute. The technical capability and the workforce required are beyond us, same reason we don't build fighter jets from scratch.
