I think when we reach middle age, its living for the now more so. Do what we can now as this is the last chance we have. And there are only certain things we can do and enjoy at certain ages.
Can't make up for lost time many a time later on in life.
One thing about me is, I'll always be 'immature/young at heart' in my ways of thinking and acting at times, though I am responsible for myself...always. I think I'm right in thinking you two are the same like me lol. (Compliment, of course).
Visited my mother in a nursing home for 5 years. If that doesn't give a true perspective about life to someone, nothing will.
