    In September 1945-after the UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER OF JAPAN AND DESTRUCTION OF TWO OF JAPAN'S CITIES MIND YOU -Emperor Hirohito made a broadcast to his people and said "THE WAR HAS DEVELOPED NOT NECESSARILY TO JAPAN'S ADVANTAGE"

    I can see many property equivalents of the above understatement of the century.
