I think all this talk of China starting a price war is ridiculous. Have you seen the state of the Chinese RE industry...I have...and the consolidation required and the huge cost of their industry becoming environmentally sound and competitive will have significant impact on their pricing. This is not to mention that China need and want their RE to stay in China to feed a growing middle class with all the gadgets that the western world has and to enable them to environmentally compete with other world industries. Most analysts are predicting that China will become a net importer of RE within 5 years.
The days of China supplying 95% of the worlds RE are unsustainable and coming to an end. Even the Chinese know this and are welcoming a new player like Lynas into the supply chain to ease the pressure both internally and externally.
But of course this is all just my humble opinion.
