Here we go.

Santos assumed operatorship of Mereenie in 1993, apparently, and drilled 22 wells there between 1993 and 2004. Before that the operator was apparently Moonie Oil Ltd, and before that, Oilmin.

Magellan drilled all the PV development wells, there are only 10 plus the discovery well.

And the very first entry is Mount Kitty 1! It appears to have been permited. So it appears the government thinks it's going to be drilled, even if unhedged doesn't. :)
