Got to remember most people borrowed money at rates much higher than they are now. Our loan started at 3.98% in 2017 down to 2.34% now. When loan was taken out the stress tests at that time was mid 7%. Thanks to low rates and paying additional repayments we've almost paid off our place.
Looking to upgrade soon but likely to still end up with a mortgage around 50% lvr thanks to a few years of being sensible and taking advantage of the low rate environment.
