Your post confirms the obvious. That brokers and traders are largely immoral.
There is the possibility that the negative and misleading reports were part of a shorting strategy. Very difficult to prove, it would take investigatory powers and motivation, regardless of these limitations, that possibility of the strategy exists.
But there's an alternative.
Collie's analysis was simply wrong. Macbank is now a holder of MSB and not a trifling amount either.
So nobody should quote Collie with any confidence, either way. IMO
