I reckon that Bill Shorten will be leader of the Labor opposition very soon, maybe Sunday or Monday.
He will be carrying quite a lot of baggage, including the removal of 2 previous leaders.
But the BIG problem will be his involvement in the AWU in the 90s. At that time, I believe the head of the union, Ian Cambridge wanted a Royal Commission into the slush fund scandal. Cambridge kept a diary of the affair.
He was denied the Commission by various people including Shorten who was alleged to have said, "If this gets out, then we are all finished".
I look forward to hearing more on the Vic Fraud squad case. Tony Abbott has promised an investigation but this may not be possible if the matter goes to court.
