whilst a shut your eyes and it will be alright approach would have worked on quite a few shares in the first part of the GFC it wouldn't have worked so well if you were invested in quite a few that went belly up and some that never regained their former glories.
if in doubt sell you can always buy back and all it will cost is the price of brokerage.
