    Wouldn't say anyone's missed the boat, YouTube is your friend and the technology barrier can be difficult for normies. If you want to learn/invest then you shouldn't have a hard time researching it.

    @ChippyDude

    for me to turn cash in the bank to bitcoin it's very straight forward;
    1. Create an account on an exchange that accepts AUD - I use BTCMarkets (Coinbase/CoinTree/Coinspot etc.)
    2. Login and follow their prompts to deposit, I used polipay a couple times before I received a direct bank to deposit to.
    3. Wait for confirmation email (1-2days if bank transferred (POLIpay is Instant for me $2K Limit).
    4. Purchase BTC with the AUD funds.

    Alts:
    To buy alts you will need to move your bitcoin to a larger exchange first (eg: Bittrex).
    1. Create an account on the exchange.
    2. Locate your Deposit address on the exchange- (NOTE* when sending coins you must send and receive to the same WALLET* Eg: Bitcoin only go to a Bitcoin address).

    So to send from BTCMarkets you will need to withdraw the BTC from that wallet, and deposit it to your Bittrex wallet.

    Takes me 5min-20min sometimes depending on the amounts.

    Hopefully this has cleared things up a little.

    Cheers
