Hi Checksmcgee, I found owning a house a massive drain on my finances,(loan repayments,maintenance,insurance,rates,stamp duty), then you find next door likes to play music or is a petrol head, don't forget the cost of selling.
Ask yourself "where will the capital growth come from?", sure property was a good investment when we had wage growth & overseas money, but that's gone.
My family invests in the share market,(my son 33 & daughter 31 both are married. both with duel incomes, children & rent) so much easier than owning a house. Much better returns in the market,capital growth potential & dividends as well.
