The question is referring to the Libs claim when they where in opposition, that the country was spiraling out of control with massive debt.

While the ALP are generally fast and loose with tax payers dollars the country is not carrying a large debt burden.

Now the Libs are lifting ? the debt ceiling themselves.

The point being they where playing politics (successfully) with their claims while in opposition.

Not a crime in my view but never the less that is the reality of their claims.
