Aurelius1, Whats killed people is the greed of shonky business people who don't look after their staff. Our debt is minuscule compared to most and is really a manageable non issue. We have low unemployment and a growing economy when other western advanced economies are struggling. However Labor has failed to sell the positives and they have over two years to turn that around. Their fortunes may change without a totally obstructionist Senate on July1.
Labor will be judged on its performance in the next two years. They need to peg back about 5% of the 2pp vote to win the next election. It may be too big a task but its bound to be volatile as some of the votes will come back more readily as many will be voters that would normally vote Labor. They need some positive motivation to go back to the Labor fold not unsimilar to Abbott first focussing on getting back the Coalitions core constituency. He has done that successfully.
