However, by referring to initial investment, you are referring to many years ago in the democratic countries that have invested in nuclear. If the economics add up these days then private investment is capable of investing. Nevertheless, look at the many millions being put into development of carbon emmission reduction by the Government - hydrogen development is just the latest. There is only one reason why nuclear has been given the bum's rush and that is politics. Perhaps it is time to get realistic and look at underlying economics along with what is achievable under IPCC and Paris Agreement timeframes. Lets stuff up the atmosphere with a blinkered approach to solar, wind, etc when we can adopt existing proven base load generation that can work alongside those new technologies.
