Looks like I started this by a passing comment.

If, and that's a big enough 'if', your politicians wish to stomach it, can you commit future generations to handle hundreds and thousands of years of nuclear waste?

What about the last x thousand years of human history suggest we're capable of handling such responsibility responsibly?

How confident are you in this commercially unproven technology? Given we have to wait 5-10 years to really learn the commercial capability of SMR's are you happy to bank my future on it given the IPCC have identified we don't have that long?

How satisfied are you with the generation capacity of the Akedemik Lomonosov? The $410 million dollar Small Modular Reactor powerhouse currently delivering a village-level 70MW. For comparison, Genex Power's 50MW Jemalong Solar Farm cost $70 million dollars - and is not the cheapest.

How confident are you that every employee working at these SMR's won't have a really, really bad day and do something we'll all pay for?

Have you consulted any of our First Nations people about where you're storing this waste? Are you aware that even the SMR's that can hypothetically re-use waste for energy still will create waste last hundreds and thousands of years?

How confident are you in our water availability over the next thousand years? Have you factored price fluctuations of deep droughts into your extensive modelling?

Noticed any unprecedented natural disasters so far this year that have removed site access?

When is the last time wind or solar farms led to arms proliferation on earth with finite resources?

Are you aware of the innovation in solar, wind, pumped hydro and batteries that can do everything nuclear will do far safer, cleaner and cheaper?

Did you know that the nuclear weapons industry needs the nuclear energy industry to survive?

Have you thought about the practicalities, and costs yet to be calculated, of staffing, meeting regulatory requirements, maintaining security and inspection requisites, creating the infrastructure for and disposing waste from dispersed SMR's?

Road accidents with hazardous material are a serious issue, don't you think?

Have you heard about how much water wind and modern solar farms use? It isn't much, is the answer.

I understand your evident favour of nuclear power may not be backed by academic or practical rigour, so I'll leave you there, for now.
