Thinking on the virtual power plant in SA... if there is a limit on the depth of discharge that AGL will be doing to their customers home battery storage systems... from my understanding, discharging too deep can cause damage and shorten the life of the battery - I wonder what failsafe and operating range they will adopt?
As it is - many reports are indicating that the payback period on home energy storage is too great and expected life is too short to currently justify the capex... if these AGL customers end up getting a shorter life from their storage as a result... will they be compensated accordingly???
