They are watching rivals' plans to do similar. They are sniffing around cheap finance from CEFC. Checking the order queue at the battery manufacturers. Guessing when Liddell will close, then which coal burner is next. Looking at the big new wind turbines and renegotiating permits with government to put up machines 850 feet high.
I barely scratch the surface.
It would be really easy to blow up the business with a poor decision.
Meanwhile, IFN looks to be playing its cards well post-refinancing. Smithfield should do wonders for cashflows by self-hedging and offering this critical service to others.
