I think hydrogen storage is a bit further out. Somewhere, I can't quickly find, I observed the very first users of hydrogen electrolysis would be IPL and ORI, as chemical feedstock to replace their first stage CH4 cracking to make ammonia. They have a direct use for H, desperately want to escape the natural gas cartel and also end their substantial CO2 emissions. The moment the engineering and economics work, they will jump. Watch them.
