I have some shares trading at a loss and others at a profit but...

I have some shares trading at a loss and others at a profit but they just about even each other out , I will then be hit with trading fees and tax due on profits because i have not held for long.I was hoping to hold my shares long term so was not overly worried about the shares losing atm as i have faith in them turning around eventually
I have asked about compensation and the reasons behind this decision and have suggested legal action will be forthcoming if no feasible answer is given.
I am looking for suggestions and more questions to ask to seek more answers and clarification if this is ethical and or legal behaviour and what further action I might be able to take.
