RIT Capital Partners last year announced plans to step up investments in corporate loans and assets that will be sold by distressed banks. It is also seizing on its well-known family brand name in China – where it is famous for its Château Lafite wine – to build up a $750m private equity fund in a joint venture with Creat Group, the Chinese investment conglomerate.
