It may be that the backlog of all samples of other hopefuls meant they couldn't get priority for express analysis for the number they need. Particularly if it was more something like ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) for a broad range of elements. They may be a lab say in Singapore that could do it quickly as their capacity isn't fully utilized. Also in the longer time to declare a resource & reserve, they will want QC/AC i.e. confirmed double checking for quality fro analysis and semple preparation so they might as well get in with a bit of that now.
