I think we can rely on my reference document, which @KingHoves has been able to confirm via other sources also, thanks KH.

That does indeed mean the company is in control of setting the date for the "Effectiveness" notice.

I think the BOD will be in communication with the underwriters, gauge the feedback and then agree on a Date of Effectiveness and then notify the SEC of the desired date.

Previously, I was under the impression that SEC was the decider.

I have also noted in my readings that the SEC does not judge the value or quality of an investment, its job is purely regulatory. FYI @JohnK123

The answer is Yes almost immediately.

In the case below the Effect, notice was issued on 25th June and trading started the same day.

This NASDAQ Listing / IPO is definitely a steep learning curve for me.

So going by this, trading starts then the offering closes a few days afterwards ?? Interesting...

So the first warning will probably be the "Registration of Securities on exchange" this preceeds the Notice of Effect, by a couple of days.

So I would suggest we look out for this notice ( Form 8-A12B ) because once the Notice of Effect arrives the show may have already begun!!
