chaps, if it is not visible on seismic then they will only know about it because of an unexpected drill result. which most probably means they have come down on the wrong side namely the downthrown side of an unrecognised fault and found the expected section either not present or considerably deeper than prognosed. which means below the water contacts and hence no oil. this is not a good development, since if faults are big enough to be of significance and yet not visible on seismic, how reliable is the overall interpretation.
