would bhp be able to take over umc.....isnt there a limit on landholding for iron ore......and....for bhp to take over umc....there would have to be a deposit of considerable size.......bhp are only interested in long life big deposits..........they have 120 large projects.....i would think umc would have to prove up 1 billion tons to even get a company of bhp interested
The other bonus is if there is a takeover the price will definately go up....but i wont be happy because companies like bhp usually have a cash payment.....no share script offer..so capital gains tax......In 2005 when they took over wmc they only offered cash.
If there is a takeover i feel it will be a smaller player....but this is all speculation until we have a proven resource
