A BOAT carrying asylum seekers has reportedly arrived at Darwin. A spokesman for the Department of Immigration and Citizenship declined to comment, saying any details would be released at the weekly briefing by Immigration Minister Scott Morrison on Friday. A call to the office of Mr Morrison was not returned. The Northern Territory News website reported an unknown number of passengers had been transported to the Blaydin alternative place of detention in Darwin on Monday night. The Guardian said the passengers were thought to be from Somalia and included children. Under current policy, they will be transported to offshore processing centres at Nauru or Manus island.
