In the car listening to the news today the ABC simply referred to them as refugees. That fact is in dispute. There is only low level sectarian violence in India and if avoiding that was their concern it would be simpler and cheaper to move to another district. We EXPECT Australian citizens to move to find employment so surely it is not too much to expect someone to move to avoid perceived hostility in India.
They should have referred to them as "yachties who ALLEGE to be refugees". As a news agency they know all about that word, they use it as an all the time. Why not in this instance?
