In Qld, the police CAN authorise removal. Get onto your state MP and demand a change in the law.

"In Brisbane the cops and council will happily tow cars for this as both the cops and the council issue a fine. It's a nice rout they have going on

Had it done a few times, living close to a train station, people try to shove in one extra car and "half" block driveways. They get quite pissy when they come back in the arvo and find there car gone and you tell them that it was you that had it towed because they are inconsiderate."
