illicit drug use

I had the unfortunate duty of being sent to a government methadone facility to provide clerical support some seven to eight years ago.

One of my duties was to provide "Fit Packs" to the clients at a very cheap, taxpayer funded price.

I often wondered why, if on methadone, a client would need syringes "for the weekend"!

Of course, you would, and still do, see uncapped syringes lying on the footpath etc.

If these people don't give a damn about the safety of children and others, thank God for the likes of UNI and it's competitors for their efforts to provide a safe solution.

You will always get the bleeding heart social workers, and drug and alcohol workers who defend the junkies and blame "Society".

I smoke cigarettes by the way, and if I die of cancer it's my own fault.

But I don't make excuses, and definitely don't expose others to my filthy habit.

Some others aren't so kind!!!!

In Thailand, injecting drug users are sent to Buddhist Monasteries to go "cold turkey" under hard labour, and the supervision of the Monks, with government approval.

I have strong views on the subject, and don't apologise for that!!!
