It is always better when you have the cycles in sync rather than opposing.
Armstrong can sometimes invert and I am not completely sure it hasn't here.
But the combined model did give the 1987 top, the 1992 low and 2003 low etc for XJO and 1994 low and 2002 for SPX and so on.
Yes 2008 was messy but the XAO cycle gave us the May 2008 last lower rally high.
