Rehabilitation must be completed 6 months after excavation . Each pit within each mine has to be brought back to pre mining landform within 6 months of completion of mining each pit within the mine.
It appears that Iluka just doesn't have the financial resources to rehabilitate Jennings farm to pre mining agricultural land. Just look at the financials over the last 20 years. They've ignored Govt directions to do so, it appears they do whatever they want. Some companies are just bad, then they get exposed then they try and backtrack as with most companies and people that get caught out. its either, it wasn't me it was them. The old mantra of blaming someone else for bad work practices, corruption of integrity and failing to take responsibility. it's not our fault it was theirs. It is simply rubbish.
When a company can't fulfil their liabilities, you know what eventually follows.
