Iluka does not own the tailings from Jennings Farm, so they should return them. Then get on to the legal obligations and responsibilities and pay the costs with the rehabilitation of Jennings Farm. The $600 million blowout in costs that was recently announced is a small amount compared to the staggering costs in rehabilitation.
And why did PWC resign recently as the auditors after 20 or so years? Was it because they were made aware of the billions of dollars in liabilities Iluka has for the rehabilitation back to agricultural land of Jennings farm? An enormous liability they have but it appears they do not have the financial resources to complete.
Iluka does not own the tailings from Jennings Farm, so return them and rehabilitate.
