Thankfully, I had a brilliant and generous father in law (married early) who backed us up without any need for a deposit.

Grabbed a 1/4 acre, easily subdivided block, in a school zone.

My niece just bought a house after saving up an enormous deposit by herself.

18, is a bit rich nowadays as one should save and invest, for eons, unless you have back up.

Dual incomes help, but my niece did it on her own.
