How does a 3 year old even have access to a gun? Why was it loaded? Was the safety on? Why wasn't it in a safe (though the 3 year old could be a safe cracking savant)?

I don't understand the thinking process of some Americans and I fully realise they aren't going to change so this is more of a whinge.

Do they constantly live in fear that someone is going to break in and murder them? Do they think their government is going to take away their "freedom"? Do they realise drone beats gun?

Recreational use or for sport I have no problem with, store it at the range, especially if you have kids - Its the I need it to "protect my family" argument - unintentional shootings far outweigh defensive use in most years, looking at the children and teens killed or injured by guns is just depressing - but then you get to suicides by gun. Compare those figures with defensive use
