    Agree it is a complex issue, especially in the US. Its not going to be an easy fix and to be honest its more an ingrained social issue. major issue is that the NRA has too much power and influence - they certainly have a place but where's the limit? whats the message they are sending? If you have an agenda to promote safe gun ownership they are certainly doing it the wrong way.

    BTW...on suicide by gun...do you really think the despair that moves one to kill themselves will be negated by the absence of guns?

    Yes - I wont go into it but can personally attest to this. If I had a gun I would be dead right now

    As well estimates are that over a million crimes are prevented a year by those wielding their own weapons for self-defense.Love to see where you got this from? I'm not disputing it just never heard of a stat like this

    For starters..I agree... all guns should be secured.

    then your whole argument above is null and void. - you cant have a gun for protection if its secured.
