    I hope that yu are not running Ad-aware with XP.

    There are known compatibility issues.

    I had it, was happy, all going well untill one day for some unknown reason it killed XP's file associations and I ended up rebuilding my registry.

    It wont happen straight away, but it will happen.

    At the very least I would make sure that you have a backup of your registry to assist if things do go wrong.
