I use smoothwall, a dedicated hardware firewall to stop all incoming and outgoing ports as necessary. an old p90 pc donor machine with 128 meg o ram and a cd rom is all thats needed. I think it has a one gig hard drive... very easy to configure, green zone/orange zone capability, modem connects directly to the smoothwall and configurable from a web style interface from any machine on your network.... best of all it's FREE... see www.smoothwall.org for your download.. All the ports are stealth mode and no traffic gets in unless I want it to.... highly recommend this software, you just need an old donor machine to play with....
