it would certainly flush out any bidder who has been holding back their cards but from what i can gather there aren't any rival bidders. only thing it might do is shock bhp into action after thinking they could pick up PH for peanuts in an admin fire sale.

forget all the rhetoric about the evil chinese - bhp BILITON has seth efricen origins remember apartheid? but it makes no sense why they wouldn't want PH - all the same metals as Olympic Dam and just up the road, in production.

surely marius (from RSA) is not as stupid as ozl management - they simply CANNOT pass it up. but we are seeing some strange things happen.
