We had a late friend, who thought the same, But had his mind changed, dramatically! It appeared suddenly, whooshed into sight - flew right over the top of the Carrier,, and off into the distance. Speed estimate - 1000 ks an hour, or more. Hundred of ship's company were witnesses.

Anyone who knew this man knows this highly regarded Melbourne specialist knows he would tell the truth. His personal reputation was oin the line, for one thing. His speciality - courtoom medical forensics. Why would he invent such an experinece. What would he have to gain - in lying? His family knew - and still tell it - years after his passing.

even Carl Sagan's theories were not, ALWAYS, right! Pays to keep minds open. And receptive.

Sagan didn't believe in the "pop culture" UFO, but he very much believed that we were not alone in the universe, As a scientific skeptic, very different from your standard definition which means against consensus, he would have changed his mind on aliens visiting earth with the slightest bit of real evidence that wasn't anecdotal, or a dodgy as hell shaky blurry video. Aliens visiting earth would be quite extraordinary, therefore its not unreasonable to demand an extraordinary amount of evidence to back that up.
