Yep, it's happened. I'm converted.
Watched Turnbull on Q&A tonight, and there is no doubt in my mind anymore that he is far superior to Tony Abbott.
He is articulate, has a sense of humour, can communicate well, is intelligent, quick on his feet, commands respect and can hold his own under questioning.
This bloke needs to be the leader of the Liberal party and hence our prime minister.
Tony Abbott has done a fantastic job as opposition leader but his time is up. He broke the faith of the people with too many promises and ruthless attacks on the then government about lies. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
And unfortunately for him, he just doesn't communicate well. Sorry but he doesn't.
If Liberals don't act quickly and move Abbott out, it will be impossible to win the next election and Shorten will be eating cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off in the Lodge in less than 18 months. We cannot afford another 3 or 6 years of Labor madness at a Federal level. Bad enough that Labor are now winning back the state governments.
Action required NOW, before the next budget. Turnbull needs to be given the top job. Otherwise Shorten and his cronies are back in power after just 3 years. Which is far too short. For what they did to Australia under Rudd/Gillard/Rudd, they should have been put in stocks, had rotten cabbages thrown at them, tarred and feathered, boiled in oil then hung, drawn and quartered.
For those that say Turnbull will be attacked by the rabid lefty dogs that are baying for Abbott's blood, I say it is 100% true but the LNP have to try. I think Turnbull is strong enough and smart enough to keep them at bay and deliver a different approach to our problems, and leave Labor out in the cold and more importantly away from our Treasury.
