I think you're confusing earnings with sales. The P/E is definitely a lot more than 8. Having said that, if you strip out all the R&D spending, the P/E isn't particularly excessive at all, indeed it's arguably very cheap given the company has two more drugs that have completed ph3 trials and highly probable to be approved for sale ... and that's without even considering the pipeline of drugs currently in trials
