Expanding further in Australia through takeovers for banking services not what suspect ANZ management and major shareholders will see as desirable.
Currently ANZ appear to be concentrating on expanding their involvement throughout Asia, which they seem to be doing fairly well at the moment :-)
Then again, sometimes deals may be so cheap, so attractive, they would feel silly to not proceed.
